Astra Laguna are a music duo made up of artists Caroline Mackintosh and Bummela who live and breathe sound.Ever since they met 8 years ago they have been weaving sonic magic and composing songs together. Originally from South Africa, they are world travellers who have a passion for studying different spiritual and musical traditions and are avid collectors of instruments and songs that
inspire them. Bummela is a composer, sound designer, music producer and multiinstrumentalist, dividing his musical energy between composing music and
creating sound design for films, producing records for independant artists, creating and producing music for Astra Laguna and producing his own organic electronic music. He is a shamanic practitioner, studying the traditions of the Yawanawa, the Shipibo and the Andean cosmology. He is also a dedicated
student of Advaita Vedanta and a 800h advanced certified yoga teacher. The great mystery of understanding music and harmony has informed the way he
experiences the world, for him the most important quest is understanding the nature of the self, or the nature of consciousness itself. He believes questioning
comes from the mind, but knowing comes from the heart expressing itself through music. Caroline is a visual artist, musician, and shamanic practioner. She draws
inspirations from nature, creative processing, human connection and the mystery of life itself. Growing up in Africa and spending many months in the Amazon with
